The AI Robot Association is pleased to announce that we will be holding a Robot Foundation Model Development Competition.

Overview

Robot Foundation Model Development Competition Using One of the World’s Largest Real-World Datasets (Tens of Thousands of Hours)

・Stage 1: Six teams will each develop a multi-billion-parameter robot foundation model within five months.

・Stage 2: The top two teams will merge and develop a larger model (ranging from several to tens of billions of parameters) using an even larger dataset.

・Ample GPU resources will be provided! (Details to be announced later)

・Models will be evaluated on real robots — see your model run in the real world!

Schedule

In Stage 1, teams will compete to improve accuracy on relatively simple tasks, such as pick-and-place operations. For the winning themes, Stage 2 will focus on achieving higher accuracy on more challenging tasks.

Due to an update of the dataset near the end of the Foundation Model Competition, the Stage 1 deadline has been extended from September 15, 23:59 to September 29, 23:59(JST).
